New Year's Meme, also...I'm alive!

So LJ tells me I haven't updated in 7 weeks. Uh, oops. The semester got a little loco there and really, nothing all to interesting was happening anyway. So c'est la vie.

So instead of just recapping the last few months, I'm just going to post this fun little New Years meme for now and maybe update on life and fiber arts later.

01. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Attended three weddings within four months. I was "best man" in my dad's wedding. I was a bridesmaid. Uh...lots of wedding related stuff actually.

02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't usually make New Years' resolutions because I think it's kind of silly to only make these big resolutions once a year.

03. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yep, in march my cousin Brian and his wife Becki welcomed baby Jacob, who we've decided to call Cobby instead of Jake. Oh he's the most precious little boy ever. Actually, on Christmas Eve we were all fawning over his moose footie pajamas, with little moose heads for feet.

04. Did anyone close to you die?
No people, but Lucifer, my cat did die about a week and a half ago. It absolutely wrecked me for about four days. But I'm getting better. We gave him a full funeral, Josh even got his bagpipe practice chanter out and played Amazing Grace. It made me laugh, and I'm glad we gave him such a lovely sendoff.

05. What countries did you visit?
Aw, none. I haven't left the country since senior year's trip to Quebec.

06. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
A real live grown up job.

07. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 18th - day we got engaged, after a huge fight the night before.

08. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Um, getting everyone's scarves done in time for the trip to New York?

09. What was your biggest failure?
Not finding a new job that would pay and treat me better. :/

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A few colds and allergies but nothing serious.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
lol, I didn't buy anything special. I'd say my gold filter coffee maker, because I'm a coffee addict and it's amaaaaaazing. Also my new favorite boots.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Everyone! Everyone's done something to merit celebration this year.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
A woman from work, my sister, Missy during wedding planning.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Household bills. Missy's wedding.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Dad's wedding, secret vacation with Josh, NYC trip

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me....I love it, but it was kind of inescapable.

17. Compared to this time last year, you are:
Happier I'd say. A little more restless, waiting to graduate and get out of Borders and such.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Volunteering and such. I'd really like to volunteer with the Humane Society this year.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Moping. I was kinda mopey this year.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Aw, it's over now. :( We did my families on Christmas Eve and Josh's on Christmas day. Good times.

21. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
lol, probably just sitting home alone, doing nothing. It's Josh's last night on 3rd shift so he goes into work at 10 that night.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
I'll say "all over again" and be sappy and gross, ha.

23. How many one-night stands?

24. What was your favorite TV program?

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Uh...my hatred for Michael Vick has grown. I was kinda vaguely aware of him last year, I knew he ran a dogfighting ring, but when the Eagles hired him and I really looked into it, my blood started to boil. And now they've given him an award for upholding the values of sportsmanship and courage and omfg, the rage...it's not even funny. Flames. Flames, on the side of my face!

26. What was the best book you read?
Ooh, I had to read All Quiet on the Western Front for a class this year and it was amazing.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I know I'm late to the party, but I really only discovered my love for the Beatles this year. Guilty secret: I would love to use only Beatles music in my wedding, but I know it would get too cheesy and lame.

28. What did you want and get?
Vair nice yarn for both bday and Christmas! Vacation to VA with Josh.

29. What did you want and not get?
A raise, better hours during school breaks.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Super weird tie: Gran Torino (I think it came out in January) and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Both were amazing.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Um, had a class, had a nice dinner with Josh and probably watched a movie. I was 22.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Winning the lottery. Not so many stupid fights over bridesmaid duties.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
lol, comfort.

34. What kept you sane?
Crocheting, reading, my kitty.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
omg I'm so ashamed to admit this, especially because of his age, but Taylor Lautner. omg, I'm such a cougar.

36. What was your favorite video game of the year?
Don't really play video games.

37. Who has made the most cameos in your dreams this year?
Borders. I've had far too many dreams where I'm at work. The worst is when it's after I've closed, and have to open the next morning. I can't escape!

38. Who did you miss?
Amber, Manda...my h.s. friends who moved away.

39. Who was the best new person you met?
Probably Marie from work.

40. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:
In the words of Nike, just do it. And don't take anything for granted.

41. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I'd like to be/ Under the sea/ In an octpus's garden / With you -le Beatles
